On July 6, 1905 a group of motorboat owners in Sydney formed a motorboat club - The Motor Boat Club - the second in the British Empire. The Club was formed to promote motor boating which included racing and social activities.

The Royal Motor Yacht Club is situated on Sydney Harbour, commonly referred to as the most beautiful natural harbour in the world.

It offers luxurious amenities with varied activities and functions that Members and their guests can enjoy.

The Club also provides a la carte dining, wedding reception and function facilities, state of the art gym, outdoor barbeque area with children's playground and a 23 metre swimming pool.
